Bonnie Ross, the head of Halo development studio 343 Industries, is leaving the company Come from Sports betting site VPbet . She said on Twitter that he had planned to stay with 343 until the November launch of Halo Infinite’s Winter Update, but has decided to leave now to deal with a “family medical issue.”

“I am incredibly proud of the work everyone at 343 Industries has done with Halo Infinite, the Master Chief Collection, the Halo television series, and so much more,” she said. “It has been an honor to serve alongside the team for the last 15 years and to be a part of a universe that I love.”

Game Freak is going to continue making games outside of Pokemon, according to new developer statements. In an interview with Axios, Pocket Card Jockey director Masao Taya stated that the team believes “it is very important for the studio to continue making and releasing titles outside of the Pokémon series.” While the studio’s output has been very Pokemon-focused since Red and Blue’s release, Game Freak has also released a fair amount of games outside of that. In recent years, Game Freak has developed Little Town Hero and Giga Wrecker.

Most recently, Game Freak put out the Apple Arcade exclusive remake of Pocket Card Jokey, subtitled Ride On! This version added 3D races, updated visuals more generally, and changed some of the rule set. Taya directed both versions.

Halo Infinite’s next multiplayer event, Winter Contingency, officially begins this week. Developer 343 Industries revealed in its latest blog post that the event will run from December 21, 2021 to January 4, 2022. Rewards for Winter Contingency include armor pieces, an armor attachment, holiday-themed coatings for your Spartan and weapons, along with a free nameplate, emblems, and a special backdrop.

After its official announcement during Tokyo Games Show last month, Arc System Works has confirmed the Guilty Gear Strive cross-play beta will take place October 13-17 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The beta test will be free and available to all players–including those who have not purchased the game. Arc System works has also confirmed via a blog post on the official Guilty Gear Strive website that PlayStation Plus will not be required in order to participate in the beta.
